BTW, gal-1-Lave.png is not 512x3072. It's 256x1536. Mine seems to be 512x3072 (but it's from the original release). Indeed, all images are 512x3072 in v1.0. Still some seams are visible on Lave at the very close range, but they are hardly noticeable. Texture resolution in v1.1 varies from 256x1536 ...

Not sure if it's related. I'm seeing this small seam on Lave with Povray Planets 1.1 A-Ha! some of the textures in povray planets 1.1 are actually from Famous Planets and those were not originally cube-maps. Now that expansion packs are available there's another minor issue.
For some reason, the BGS OXP v2.5.1 is status is now "installed, updated pack available for download",
However, the updated pack is actually version 1.10.9 which is quite old.

OK, I've found what it was. The problem was caused by the missing /user/bin/gdnc which is a part of gnustep-base package. Apparently gnustep-base-devel was installed, while gnustep-base wasn't.
