Ah thanks for that. I'd assumed that because the BBC version used different keys for turning the computer off and on, Oolite would do also.

Is there a way to stop the docking computer sequence? You could turn the system off on the BBC version.

(What about instant-docking for other objects than space stations?)

I fixed that by splitting up the various roles in the shipdata.plist file, so I ended up with ships like "sunskim-python" which had role sunskim-trader and AI route2sunskimAI.plist (I think that's what the file is called, I don't currently have an installed copy of Oolite). Similarly for p...

Managed to make something go wrong by accidentally doing a make install / make uninstall when I actually had a different version of the same software installed by RPM. Tried reinstalling the relevant stuff but it was still busted. Plus I had a load of stuff left over from when I changed desktop mana...

You say Oolite works like that, but what about the claim made here, where the programmer clearly claims that the galactic jump is rigged to avoid remote constellations.

That was a while ago, has the situation changed?

Can you? I thought in Oolite the system was rigged so you'd always end up in the main block of planets. Has that been changed?

Might be useful to have such structures to allow you to go beyond the 7 ly limit, as part of a mission to one of the remote constellations. SCENARIO: The military have been using systems in a remote constellation to test weapons and have developed an experimental jump gate system to break the 7 ly l...

It would be good to have it so the scanner cannot lock on to "Wreckage". Too many times I get messages obliterated because the scanner sends a message that it has locked on to wreckage which then detonates and sends another message saying Target Lost.

Out of interest, what were the BBC version galactic entry points?

The only one I can remember is that galaxy 2 was Ororra, but I never did get round to doing a complete loop through the galaxies.

Interstellar sunskimmers

You probably all figured this one out long ago, but sunskimmers.oxp generates pirates/traders/etc. in interstellar space.

This can be cured by adding "planet_number greaterthan -1" to each conditions() block in the script.plist provided in the addon.

BBC B, tape version was my first. Soon graduated to the BBC Master disc version when my old primary school got rid of its stock of BBC Master 128s. Tried ArcElite and hated it (never could get the hang of the mouse controls, and keyboard, while still an option, just wasn't manoeuverable enough).

Do you have space dredgers installed? For me, it prevented access to the shipyard in high-tech systems. (Using Linux v1.65)
