Re: [Solved]Strange message in Terminal after installing Ool
We need all commanders we can get to fight off the thargoids. How true. I wish I knew how to modify my Cobra MKIII so that I can create a "hood ornament" of sorts. The idea I had was to place a 'NOTICEABLE' object on the nose of the ship, something that looks like....oh--I don't kno...

Re: [Solved]Strange message in Terminal after installing Ool
Glad you got it working O'neal. I've been running Mint 13 since April, and I wholeheartedly agree with GimbalLocke on the fact the repo is horribly out of date - so much so that I've been tempted to get in touch with the maintainer to get it fixed ;) I understand. You know, it's too bad too. A game...

Re: Strange message in Terminal after installing Oolite?
You, my friend, are a genius. If you still have 1.75.3 installed, try to open a terminal and type: oolite-update I tried this and got the message that the file/directory did not exist. Moving on..... If that does not work, download 1.76.1, and type in a terminal (from the directory in which you have...

Re: Strange message in Terminal after installing Oolite?
The repository is horribly out of date, you can better get rid of 1.75.3 and download & install the most recent version of Oolite , if only because of the bug fixes but also for more features and many OXPs will only work with the latest version. You will also get better support here for problem...

Re: Strange message in Terminal after installing Oolite?
I just installed Oolite 1.75.3 on a Linux Mint 13 machine While I have no explanation for the warning (never seen it before), I have a question for you: why do you install 1.75.3 in stead of 1.76.1? :D Fair question. I just installed it. It was the one that was in the repository and I just haven'nt...

[Solved]Strange message in Terminal after installing Oolite?
Greetings all. I just installed Oolite 1.75.3 on a Linux Mint 13 machine and following the installation I was presented with this message: 2012-11-19 18:50:34.174 oolite[9747] WARNING your program is becoming multi-threaded, but you are using an ObjectiveC runtime library which does not have a threa...

Re: Testing Oolite 1.76.1 installed on Open SUSE 12.1
While I can't provide much insight, I'll mention that I just did an openSUSE 12.1 install on my ancient machine (on a second HDD in a computer with similar specs as your machine), but removed it after a couple of days as I was having trouble doing much of anything with it, so I installed Ubuntu 12....

Re: Testing Oolite 1.76.1 installed on Open SUSE 12.1
Maybe something heavy is running in the background. If you open (after starting Oolite) a terminal and type in the "top" command, you can see which processes are taking up CPU time and memory. user@Computer:~$ top top - 02:23:17 up 11 min, 1 user, load average: 0.59, 0.29, 0.17 Tasks: 166...

Testing Oolite 1.76.1 installed on Open SUSE 12.1
I just installed Oolite 1.76.1 on Open SUSE 12.1 and I am experiencing very slow game play (4 FPS) and no sound. The machine that this is installed on is a 10 year old (antique) IBM 831063U. Here are the specs. for this box: Serial# KANA034 Processor (don't laugh) Intel Pentium 4, 1.80GHz Video Card...

Re: Playing Oolite on X-BOX?
Thank you SandJ for the reply. I have looked at the links that you provided and it appears that setting up the X-BOX to run linux is no simple task, however, I do enjoy a good challenge. I think the whole process is a little risky so I am going to try and get my hands on another X-BOX console...

Playing Oolite on X-BOX?
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to load and play Oolite on an X-Box (the original, not the 360) game machine? I guess I'm asking if the game is ported to this type of platform? I know that the X-Box is Microsoft but it is a game machine not a computer, correct? Or am I wrong about that. I under...

Re: How do I save all of my Oolite game data?
@ fronclynne @ Gimbal Locke Thank you both for your replies and advise. I apologize that it took this long to respond. I just got my system re-installed and running again. I used both suggestions (I like redundancy, especially if it comes in multiple forms) and now have two separate backups of the g...

[Solved] How do I save all of my Oolite game data?
Hello all. I am planning on deleting my current Linux partition and re-installing everything. There are two drives in the machine that I am alluding to: A WD 20 gig . And an IMB 40 gig . drive. The WD 20 gig . drive is the drive that contains the partition that I am going to delete, -actually, the e...

Re: [Solved] Problem with Witchdrive Fuel Injectors
@ Commander McLane Thank you for the links. I checked out the http://wiki.alioth.net/index.php/OXP%20List link and was blown away. I had this site bookmarked (or, so I thought) but the link that you provided is FAR MORE complete than the one I have so, again, thank you. I typically follow th...

Re: Problem with Witchdrive Fuel Injectors
Your version of FuelCollector.oxp is out of date and isn't working. It has nothing to do with your problem, but you should install the latest version anyway. This explains alot. :D I wondered why my fuel wasn't increasing like I thought it should be. I'll remove the Fuel Collector OXP and download/...
