Yep. It's the famous "Press Shift+D Whenever You Enter The Safe Zone" maneuver. Yes I know :P But speed wise I cant see the benefit When you press Shift+ D , you immediately dock, no lining up, speed up, slow down. Just straight to the F5 Status Screen. It also takes twenty minutes of 'in...

Has anyone played X3 Reunion? Just bought myself the 2007 edition (which has loads of bugs removed and fan patches). Spent 3 hours yesterday just reading the manual and I still havent got round to playing it. But by all accounts it seems to be a very involving space trading game.

Im at the skil now where I can easily fly full speed into the dock without hitting the sides and using the DC seems to take forever as it lines up, circles, speeds up, then slows down etc. Is therereally any benefit to it besid...

There is already a version of elite multiplayer being developed by edzup

The graphics are not the same standard.

I was going to suggest a few tips on Docking but after playing the game for a couple of hours its become second nature

That docking computer seems like such a waste of money now. Yet when I began the game it was the unreachable Holy Grail.

Top Ten OXP's

There are so many OXP's to choose from that I thought it might be a good idea if people listed there top 10 :) Theres plenty to choose from so it shouldnt be too difficult. What do you think should be in everyone elses AddOn folder, get listing!

If someone actually beguins the Oolite MOG, they can open a new thread but until then these posts should be enough to silence the newcomers who'd bring up the subject. This sounds like a good idea. Put a single sticky up mentioning how its not something the current team want to get involved in, rat...

It is so easy to say that something like converting Oolite to MMORPG is doable, when you are not the guy who actually does it. As Ahruman has already stated, attempting to do so would essentially mean throwing away what we already have and redesigning the entire game engine from scratch. Also, note...

You seem to give up before the problem is even started  Where would this place be if the fella who created Oolite did the same? :P

Text Remaining

Not sure if this is a bug. But the yellow text that appears on screen during an action like Witchspace or camera shift doesnt always go. The only way to clear it is to keep hitting the F keys. Anyone else experiencing this?

Would it be worth keeping OoliteMOG as a seperate entity though?
“Keeping”? It doesn’t exist, and as far as I’m aware no-one is working on it.
Umm we were talking about Oolite becoming an MMORPG remember? Of course it doesnt exist. I was carrying the conversation on in the case it did exist.

That’s not really massively multiplayer. Or an RPG. But it’s a game, and it’s online, and multiplayer, so it counts as a MOG. :-) Anyway, writing an online game and turning an existing game into an MMORPG are entirely different projects. To make Oolite multiplayer would require major architectural ...

Has anyone mentioned Jet Set Willy Online yet? A much smaller game and probably miles easier to develop (all done by peeps in their spare time). But it goes to show that its possible to make a free version of an MMORPG.

I don't think that the market for an Elite like game with real scale universe and newtonian physics is soo big. ;) Regards - Xaron Really? Just look at how successful Eve is. Granted its an online game but its basically the same thing. The X Reunion games did pretty well as did Freelancer for its t...
