note to self

Works for Ubuntu Gutsy, for me. To install all the build dependencies: "sudo apt-get build-dep oolite" "sudo apt-get install gnustep-core-devel libmozjs-dev" To get beta release (recommended): "wget http://download.berlios.de/oolite-linux/oolite-dev-source-1.69.1.tar.bz2&quo...

Rebuilding while the forum was down

Upgraded to gutsy again, now that it is a touch more stable. Forums were down (from here at least ;-]). Basic steps were: edit GNUMakefile from ljs to lmozjs, apt-get build-deps then build and play. Also got it running on OS X with little pain, so I'll be testing it with a select few OXPs on a James...

-ljs to -lmozjs worked

Thanks for the help. Now it builds fine, and even runs. Still having some problems with OXPs, the current set I have are causing a Segmentation Fault, so I'll trawl round for some more up to date versions. Using a truncated set of OXPs: Assassins.oxp, halsis.oxp, thargoidcarrier.oxp, BlackMonks.oxp,...

Monasteries not appearing in Galaxy 7

Hi all, working my way into the Assassins OXP, not finding any Black Monk Monasteries in Galaxy 7. Is this expected behaviour?

Compiling dev-source release and SVN

I'm having the same problem using dpkg-buildpackage and make on both SVN and the 1.69.1 source release. Seems to go fine till this stage: Linking objc_program oolite ... ./shared_obj/OOJSScript.o: In function `-[OOJSScript initWithPath:andContext:]': /home/chaddy/trunk/src/Core/Scripting/OOJSScript....

re: dpkg-buildpackage error

Hi shade, I'm having exactly the same error you get in (1). Thanks for posting, I had a sleepless night with it, much better knowing I'm not alone with it.

Laziness

Yeah, I know how that is ;-) I'm going the SVN route at the moment. Total no go on ubuntu feisty, libmozjs-dev is uninstallable, so its an upgrade to gutsy. At least I'm getting different errors, and it'll be an excellent reward when I get back to the game. Thanks again for overcoming the laziness a...

1.69.1 source

I'm a bit curious why there's no source for this minor version on the Berlios site. Am I just not seeing it? Would be nice to have it to try in Linux.

Eagerly awaiting 1.69.1

Hi, I've been using and abusing Oolite for a couple of months. Got quite a few IRC buddies hooked on it, too. Waiting with baited breath for the source to compile 1.69.1 for my preferred ubuntu system so I can get on with my save game which is currently non-functional. Thankyou for everyone's good w...
