Ssshhhhh! Don't tell Giles that. He's just spent the last three years implementing 3d surface rendering and ray-tracing.....

Is there anyway I can add a cargo scoop to this ship and modify it to take some cargo? Yes -- buy a cargo scoop and a cargo extension! I'd recommend that you don't mod the ship too much. Try to earn what you want in the game, rather than just editing the file. If you want a bigger cargo hold, then ...

The cockpit controls includes what train drivers in the 20th century used to call a "dead man's handle".
You have to rest your elbow on it, otherwise the brakes come on automatically.

I thank you.

I like the idea that the game would decide the price of the ship, not the OXP. That would stop you building a ridiculously powerful ship and buying it for buttons. Obviously, this would have to be calculated on TL, cargo capacity, max speed, energy banks, equipment fitted and go faster stripes. That...

What Murgh of course means is that the SuperCobra XP was made before external views were implemented, and so doesn't have one as standard. However, you can copy and paste the relevant code into the OXP from another OXP. You will find that CTRL or right clicking on an OXP brings up an option "Op...

I created an Oolite folder inside ~/Library/Application Support, but still no cache.

In other news, removed all OXPs, and experienced improved stability!

Obligatory Kenneth Williams gag: "I don't mind the jiggery. It's the pokery I'm not so keen on."

Will have a tinker this evening and report back.

No, still can't find the cache.

It's not in ~/Library/Application Support/

No Oolite folder to be had, not even for ready money, as Oscar Wilde would say.

I rather like the fact that a stray shot can land you in hot water -- it's one of the great qualities of Oolite.

It's equally nice that you can lure NPCs to take a pot shot at you and miss, hitting that Behemoth you're flying right next to.

How's Oolite on a MacBook?

I've heard much poo-pooing of the Intel Graphics chip in the MacBook, as opposed to the MacBook Pro. I'm considering buying a MacBook (when the 2nd gen comes out later in the year), but don't want my Oolite experience to suffer! Anyone here running Oolite on a MacBook? What's it like? What sort of f...

I think ALL of the missions built into Oolite are triggered by specific events, such as reaching a certain number of kills, being in the right galaxy, achieving a certain number of Creds. OXP missions may have the same triggers, or just simply turning up at the right planet. There are several spoile...

Oolite cache

There's been talk in a couple of posts about a cache that Oolite has, and the usefulness of clearing it, possibly by holding down shift when starting Oolite. I can't find any such cache. Should I be worried? v. 1.65 OS 10.3.9 Nothing in User/Library/Application Support not even an Oolite directory. ...

I do like the idea that 7 light years' fuel should cost more for a bigger ship. It fits in nicely with the 7 light year limit. However, I'd be generally less favourable towards other costs. The maintenance is already there, and can represent quite a lot for a character that is still progressing thro...
