huh? that specularity shader may make it shiney/reflective too. (If I can get other people to figure those things out, I can ask them how.) Specularity is Quite easy, its a greyscale image where you use a greytone with a value range between 0-255 pr pixel. 255 for the brightest effect and less for ...

Looks way better without the horns. :) May I suggest doing somethiong with the viewingport as well. some highlights on the edges to make it look less 1-D and maybe a fuzzy (shader?) interior....like that guy that was good at fake 3d textures did with his llama (?) etc did. I have no idea what you m...

@ Arexack_Heretic It is a Shuttle, however one that can fire back., Bay doors are textured, wouldnt be to hard to model them instead.. but you are really only going to seem them close up, so it would be waste of polies.. Cant remember its poly count but it is in the 700 range... The Horns have since...

-You know... somehow the buffered textures get mixed up. I encountered this before, but thought this was fixed already. Although I haven't seen it yet with his version, ships sometimes had textures swapped as well. (vipers with medical moray colours etc) With a fresh install I did not expect this, ...

Thanks for the advice, I've got my eyes on a replacement. One other thing - does the state of the fan suggest the rest of the card is on its last legs too? There's little point replacing the fan if the rest of the card is likely to die soon... naa i have had brand new cards come with a faulty fan.....

yeah i know of the problem you describe it is as old as rendering realtime graphics. I assume that oolite allways smooths at 90 or 180 degree angles either way it will always look awfull since the DAT files do not hold any additional information about smoothing groups.. There is a trick however and ...

I’ve done my own, which is more like I imagined it in my head… but it requires smoothing, which is buggy. So, we’ll see. http://img519.imageshack.us/img519/2581/questionmarkue8.png Note non-shader-based specular highlights! Woo, new material model! roger, mine is the ariel font, which is why it got...
