I don't know if the wiki is purposefully vague but I think it could do with some non technical language explaining the methods. Someone said earlier that there was no way to calculate a position perpendicular to a given line but this is the purpose of the cross method. However, in the wiki the word ...

Wouldn't using the multiply method on a vector from 0 to the sun give a scaled vector? i.e a lengthened vector behind the sun by a factor of the authors choosing? It's been a long time but the interpolate can be used to invert a vector (go the other way) or split the distance by some factor and the ...

I'll share some of my tactics, these are mostly anecdotal so you'll have to experiment for yourself. I don't really like the snipey way of doing it. I say get in among them. Fly like a madman, you will only improve with time. 1. If you're heading directly towards them then you present a still target...

Holy Hannah! Good work Aegidian, Ahruman and co. Glad to see the JS is up and running and is being extensively used in the OXPs. Well done to those authors, too. Thanks peeps for keeping the dream alive, I can't stop to chat because there is a trader who gave my retainer a funny look in a bar somewh...

You need a ful GNUStep dev install and I'm not sure about feisty but when I attempted it on edgy I found that my libc pakage was too old and would need compiling too... I never got round to it. I intend to though... when I'm bored enough. If you want to go ahead and need help give me a shout. I'm a ...

It's a good idea, thank you. I've only been playing for a little over a week and my kill (er.. legal termination) count is just over 200 so I'm limited where I can go and what I can do atm with a purse of about 300k. Changing the setting later on will be trivial though. I've noticed the problems wit...

Mafia OXP
Hey, so this is what I've been doing today... Mafia OXP for OOlite. This is the beginnings of a mafia career type addon in the vain of Driver or GTA. Something that GTA had in common with Elite was it's open endedness and so with this in mind I have tried to employ such an approach here. You may sta...

OOlite crashes my linux,,,, in a major way. Everything locks to the point where the power needs turning off. It only happens when I have GNOME running so I play from a failsafe termninal and there is no problem. This suggests that the problem is more GNOME than OOlite (which frees everything after e...

Question about the linux development
So is anything going on here still? It seems from the projects home page and on these boards that dev has stopped. I only ask because I have a working knowledge of C and I've recently been playing with SDL. I never really got on with OO but from what I've been reading of ObjC it's messaging system i...
