This has been mentioned several times on the forum but you get quite a lot of kills for killing the Constrictor, can't remember how many off the top of my head but it's definitely a great deal.

As for the station exploding, it happens. They're tough but not completely invincible.

Um, he gives credit where its due. I realise I wasn't around during the, um, Sung, incident, but he doesn't seem to be doing anything wrong in this case.

Also, I agree with Jack_H about preferring original dialogue. (Which is why I hate that scene in Sliding Doors where the writer demonstrates how "hilarious" John Hannah's character by having him quote from Monty Python. Ugh.) I have to confess I disagree with that sentiment. I mean, how o...

https://bb.oolite.space/viewtopic.php?t=2784 is the link to the comparison between plists and javascript.

From my point of view the new system is far preferable to the old but then I'm essentially a newbie and haven't 'grown up' with plists. That and I'm a java programmer! Lol.

So, slap Oolite onto CDs and sell it at your local car boot sale at £3 each
I'd be surprised if people thought £3 was an acceptable price for sticking something free on a CD.

Good grief. I'm pretty sure the player can misjump themselves. But I'm sure you'll find something else to nitpick about so I'm leaving the 'discussion'.

Re: Witchspace, possible to exit?

When you drive, there is a chance you will screw up and a chance someone else will screw up. You have looked at driving a car, taken only the chance that someone else screws up, and then declared it is always someone else's fault; and that since it is always someone else's fault, it's exactly like ...

Re: Witchspace, possible to exit?

Witchspace risk is entirely out of the control of the player. No actions on the part of the player influence the outcome. It is pure chance. Much like driving a car then. There's a chance that you can get involved in a car crash that is entirely someone else's fault every time you go on a journey. ...

The situation itself is a perfectly valid one. I'm surprised you're dead against it seeing as how keen on realism you are. And after all, you can always reload. For an actual solution maybe there could be an intergalactic version of the AA who can be called out in the event of being stranded. And yo...

Seemed an appropriate place to put my first post. My first Elite game was Frontier: Elite 2 on the Amiga although I have since played the original Elite (also on the Amiga). What I loved most about it was that it seemed so realistic compared to other games. Things taking time to happen, realistic-fe...
