Once I got into space traveling and watching the scanner and interacting with other craft, I was and still am hooked. You don't just play this you live it! <pinches arm, must remember it is only a game> hehe for some reason (in oolite) i feel bad if i see explosions off in the distance and don't ru...

ghost cargo

i've been playing some Oolite and i just came across a strange little bug - ghost cargo (from a pirate i kaboomed)! it shows up on my scanner, it's perfectly visible, but i can't get an ident/missile lock on it, i can't scoop it, i can't shoot it (laser goes right through it), and i can fly right th...

If it makes you feel better, I've been playing for quite sometime with the Oolite standard keys and I've just tried shooting up a spacestation rather than increasing speed towards it! well i don't know about Derek, but that makes me feel better for accidentally jettisoning cargo when i'm trying to ...

ok *now* the game seems to be acting differently - i decided just for fun to start a new game, on one of my first docking attempts a viper or python or something came out of nowhere and i couldn't avoid ramming into and killing it, this was early enough in the game that it was my first kill, and...s...

Corrupt cops OXP idea?

hiya, i had an idea for a simple little OXP, if it could be done (which from the little i know about OXPs seems very possible), of having corrupt cops in certain governments, anarchies, feudals, dictatorships etc - the idea being that if you're an offender or a fugitive and go to one of these system...

Then at college i played the BBC disc version, more ships and stuff, yay, never did track down a dredger tho. forgive me if i'm pointing out the obvious, but have you since found out that space dredgers and generational ships (while mentioned in the manual) weren't actually in the original version ...

C64 for me, and I also would guess it was in 85, perhaps 86. Later I moved on to Atari ST (why isn't that on the voting list, we ST-users are not just "other"s :? ! well, first your vote should be C64 if that was the first version you played, which was the question :P and second, i actual...

What was the first version of Elite you ever played?

crime free piracy and police-kabooming!

while testing out stuff for the oolite manual, using a copy of my save file altered to give me a silly amount of credits, i've been doing many things that i wouldn't normally do. such as, piracy!! *wears her eyepatch, etc* - however, i've noticed something rather amusing that seems like a bug to me ...

Volunteers for a manual re-write will be gratefully pounced upon. :-) (I’m also vaguely considering maybe probing for volunteers/design proposals for a possible Grand Unified Web Site for Oolite.) i'm now attempting to rewrite the manual! give me a couple days or so, i have an autistic attention to...

*giggles insanely* sorry if i confused anyone, guess not everyone will understand my geek humour - variablename++ and variablename-- being the way to increment/decrement a variable by 1 in C - or in other words, "more pretty and less pretty". i'm a bit of a strange girl, and very geeky. as...
