No it isn't. In deep space there is no sun to scoop from.TGHC wrote:I don't know if it's possible, but you could always try using the fuel scoop to top it up.Lazygun wrote:...and some device that allows jumping to an arbitrary deep space destination.

Re: Externally Mounted Fuel Tanks?
Alternatively, you might want to consider externally mounted fuel tanks, which in a battle situation might be targetted by an enemy You are assuming that Witchdrive fuel is explosive, an easy one to make given the primitive times in which we find ourselves, but it seems to me that a material that c...

It really shouldn't be all that hard. The drone itself would work just like any other AI ship in the game. I think it would have three states - follow, return and wait. In the follow state it could fly straight at a position directly above the target ship at a particular distance. By above I mean wi...

Obviously if you fixed the scaling of the ooniverse, then the sun in a system would be quite small, not much bigger than the other background stars. So some kind of lens flare or other method of representing brighter-than-white might become necessary. I also always found it a little simplistic that ...

Re: Improvements to the ADvanced space compass
The planet, the sun and the distances between them are much much smaller than they would be in real life, and putting a permanent reminder of this on-screen would be (for me) too much for suspension of disbelief to carry. :) Given that the incorrect scaling is obviously at least a little upsetting ...

Re: Improvements to the ADvanced space compass
Well that doesn't make sense, if you can see it with your eyes, then surely an "Advanced Space Compass" should be able to detect it.NoSleep wrote:Can I just point out here, that you can get a visual lock on the Space Station way before the compass has registered!

I've always kinda liked the look of the suns in this game (even the old incarnations with the skanky graphics) I mention this because it would be kinda cool if the energy bomb looked a bit like a new sun. A rapidly expanding new sun. Nice if it faded in visual intensity and actual damage done as it ...

Improvements to the ADvanced space compass
It would be nice if you could select the station no matter how far from it you are. That way you don't have to fly toward the planet until you get in range. Also there would be no need for the ASC to automatically switch from planet targeting to station targeting when in range, because you pilot has...

How about a full manual thruster pack conversion? That way you could disengage the standard Elite computer assisted controls and go for undamped 6x2 way thrusters. (Roll+ Roll- Pitch+ Pitch- Yaw+ Yaw- X+ X- Y+ Y- Z+ Z-, yup, only twelve keys required, could just about manage that with two hands!) :...

I'd like to see an extreme docking computer that instead of going through the whole procedure at 80% speed, screams up to the slot at whatever angle happens to take you right next to it and executes a perfect turn timed to take you into the slot at the correct rotation. That would be cool. Also, an ...
