Re: The official UI overhaul challenge thread

More playing around and doing some testing. I have gotten a base construction to render windows. They support blending with the background, as you can see. Using this technique, it might even be possible to create movable, fully interactive windows that can have... well, anything, really. Have a lo...

Just stumbled across this: The text display area is 512 units wide, regardless of window size.

Presumably there are height constraints as well.
480 units high, lines of 16 units each. I always thought the display area was a square, 480 wide, too.

I don't suppose the system allows showing destinations in an abbreviated form?
Be specific, please? What is "the system"? What is "destinations"?

Hmm, I just docked in a Proto-Coriolis at Beenri and the market lists slaves at 2576980475.5 cr/t. Did a value wrap around?
Does it look like a station from a very old OXP? In any case, try to identify exactly what station from which OXP, and Cholly will fix its market definition.

Re: Anarchies 2.8 now available

There were a number of massive changes in Oolite which transpired with v.1.80 & v.1.82. A number of our more distinguished OXP authors allegedly threw up their hands in disgust and fled into the waiting mandibles of the Witchspace Lobster, to be engulfed. One or two managed to escape torment af...

1) Might it not be, that with the development of AI, that we could eventually hand over development of Oolite to a more developed AI? - https://bb.oolite.space/viewtopic.php?t=21850 - Qwen's suggestions for modding Oolite - Wildeblood's recent publications of AI derived scripts (Witchbank for just ...

Re: Taxi Galactica v1.0

Do you mean something like this? Noisy_Passengers_0.1.oxz Bryon Arn took yours and transmogrified it into Passenger Comms (3 years after you left?). I re-read that 2014 thread this morning; that was a pleasant trip down memory lane. Thankyou, Cholly, I had wondered why that Noisy Passengers script ...

Re: Taxi Galactica v1.0

Incidentally, is there an OXP and/or plans for making passengers more active during the trip? Some ideas that come to mind: Making random comments during flight. Making panicked or encouraging comments during dogfights. Grumbling when the ship has been stuck in docking queue for more than 5 minutes...

I wish to clarify to anyone reading this.
Have you recently changed the location field of your profile information? That's a pretty bleak description of Yorkshire.

Re: Planetfall 2.0 (apparently)

Sorry. So, if I understand you correctly, somebody with the knowledge could rejig the OXP to use Javascript to differentiate between the two. And thus not switch if one were at too low an altitude (and also not forgetting to comment out the original switchers ("alert_conditions=" ?) in th...

Re: Planetfall 2.0 (apparently)

I poked around in ColuberHUD's files, and looks like the change in the HUD configuration is done in the plist rather than the scripting. The various bars are defined twice, one version shown during red alert and another otherwise. I beg your pardon. I was thinking of how we did things in the olden ...

Re: Planetfall 2.0 (apparently)

Incidentally, is there a way to suppress automatically going from yellow to red alert when close enough to the planet? The WOOP WOOP and ColuberHUD switching to combat configuration is a little distracting. If you're comfortable editing a javascript, and you know which script is causing it. Presuma...
