fixed some problems in nginx configuration - sometimes oolite.space open may fail or very slow.

I set nginx+php and started site code from github (but remove OXP news and menu item)
so... git code is old (actual on 1.80, but attentive pilots can find other differences)...

I've added warnings to the main page of our wiki, and to the Expansions Manager page (if anybody will ever look at either!).

Might it be an idea to put up an announcement here?

Edited to add: the oolite article link on en.wikipedia.org has also been edited

I've just tweaked the wiki alert to point to the top-level message that just refers to the fix, so it's easier to spot in the flow.

I tried this on the Mac version of 1.90, but something is not working.

I added
"oxz-index-url" = "http://addons.oolite.space/api/1.0/overview";
to org.aegidian.oolite.plist (confirmed by using "defaults read org.aegidian.oolite" from the terminal)

However, updating the expansion list within Oolite gives an error "Download failed! See Latest.log for details". The log shows

22:43:57.399 [plist.parse.failed]: Failed to parse ~/Library/Caches/org.aegidian.oolite/Oolite-download.plist as a property list.
Malformed DTD on line 1
22:43:57.401 [oxz.manager.error]: Downloaded manifest was not a valid plist, has been left in ~/Library/Caches/org.aegidian.oolite/Oolite-download.plist

And Oolite-download.plist contains:
Error 404: Page not found
The page you requested could not be found. Perhaps it was attacked by a thargoid?

The "thargoid" message shows it accessed the site, but it didn't get the data it expected.

Any ideas whether this issue likely to be trouble at my side, Mac-specific or server-side?

I am happy to try other experiments, or try rebuilding the latest rather than using 1.90 if it may help.

Hi and welcome. Right now there is a problem with the url that provides the oxz list. It returns a 404 and this is both in-game and by hitting the page with a browser. Hopefully a solution will be found soon.

Welcome to the merry throng! Super to see another AppleMaccer... not an AppleMac Addict with an Aggressive Adder by any chance?

Thanks for the welcome! (sorry - not an alliterating Adder...)

Great to see the community here, and happy to chip in if I can help with anything (although I probably can't do much for this issue if it is server related)

I continue experiments with nginx settings and (my copy-past mistake) sent to addons.oolite.org - http request header Host=oolite.org, fixed it to addons.oolite.org value.
