Ten years old today

Post by Cody »

I note that this forum was established on May 20th 2004 - pretty good going, eh?
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

When you consider the ephemeral nature of so much stuff online, it's remarkable! 10 years must be more like 70, in internet time ...

Incredible that the forum has been going for one tenth of the age of the average forum user!

Activity has been at a solid "niche but hardcore" level the whole time. Congrats community. Plus, lurkers like me post once every five years or so but we keep up on all developments, so it may be more popular than we know.

What a game.

Fire up the BBQ, Smivs - I've got some Cequququian shrew steaks in the locker.

<raises a jar to everyone who's made this amazing game what it is today>

And most importantly, to our Master and Commander! Here's to you, Giles!
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied
